An active response to Ceal Floyer's Monochrome (A work consisting of a supermarket receipt detailing the purchase of 36 white items), Stolen white goods is exactly the same selection of 36 white items – including lard, paper plates, milk and tissues – that Ceal bought and which I stole over the course of a number of visits to various supermarkets in Bristol.
Utilising a certain entrepreneurial spirit having acquired all the items at no cost, I then put them up for sale as artworks in a gallery at an appropriately disproportionate markup and so offered a simple and valuable lesson in how to make us all much better capitalists.
