In urban areas you are unlikley to ever be that far from a public litter bin. In the small Belgian city of Ghent there are of course many to be found strapped to either a lamp post or a railing.

Employing a screw driver and bolt cutters this bin and its contents were spirited into my awaiting vehicle. From there we embarked upon a road-trip through the Belgian coastal towns and the French countryside before taking in the view of the White Cliffs of Dover as we arrived in to the UK. We then drove the final leg to my home city of Bristol - taking a brief detour for the UNESCO World heritage site of Stonehenge which I was certain the bin would appreciate - where upon arrival it was installed with a prime view of Isambard Kingdon Brunel's historic suspension bridge which spans the Avon gorge - a popular, cultural and defintive landmark of the city.

Returning to the bin's holiday location just over a week later, it was nowhere to be seen.
