The balloon, conventionally a token of joy, was hijacked into being an envoy of internal monologue. Instead of symbolising anniversary or celebration, it simply carried a blunt truth into the heart of a public space. The balloon becomes a dark ambassador: a celebratory emblem turned public whisper of what it means to be immersed in late stage capitalism.
